Some people apologize way too much. (Like the ladies in this "Inside Amy Schumer" skit.) Some people never apologize. Even when they know they've done something wrong. But there may be a reason for this: refusing to apologize might actually make some people feel better. It may improve feelings of self-esteem and integrity (seems a tad delusional, but alrighty then). And it may give harm-doers a sense of control and empowerment. Also, apologies are hard. And they require a certain strength of character. So don't hold your breath for that one, particularly elusive apology. You probably won't get it. At least now you know why.
