THAT'S LIFE

What’s the meaning of life? It’s a pretty existential question for a Thursday at 4pm. Today's after-school activity explored the seven characteristics of life (which I had to look up myself - growth, movement, consumption of energy, respiration, response to stimuli, reproduction, excretion). We performed a simple experiment to identify potential signs of life in three different sand samples - one containing dry sand, one with sand plus crushed antacid, and one with sand and dry yeast. Turns out, the yeast was alive (muahaha).
