Strawberries

Today in the classroom, we extracted DNA from strawberries using totally ordinary household items. We didn't even need a microscope! We could see the clumpy deoxyribonucleic acid goodness with our naked eyes. It was baffling. And it led to some pretty amazing-slash-adorable questions. Questions like, “Can this strawberry DNA evolve?” Or, "Does strawberry ice cream contain DNA?" Or, “If I drink this, will I turn into a strawberry?”
